Girls Baseball Bluenose League

Halifax Minor Baseball is pleased to offer 12U, 14U, 17U all Girls Baseball Teams!

HMB wants to make 2025 the BEST ALL-GIRLS SEASON THE BEST YET!

IN ORDER TO MAKE 2025 THE BEST SEASON YET – Girls who sign up MUST MAKE THEIR ALL-GIRLS TEAM THEIR PRIORITY!!!

THE DETAILS

Who can sign up? Any girl who wants to play baseball, even if they live outside of the HMB Association area, have never played baseball (or softball) before, or have only ever played softball.

Baseball Nova Scotia All-Girls Leagues: Baseball Nova Scotia is offering 12U, 14U, and 17U All-Girls Leagues. If there is enough interest, Baseball Nova Scotia will be offering two skill groups this year – a competitive league (AAA) and less competitive league (“AA”).  If there is enough interest, HMB is going to enter ONE team in each League.

Birthdates and Cost:  The birthdates and cost for each league are:

·        12U - 2013-2015 ($250)

·        14U - 2011-2012 ($275)

·        17U - 2008-2010 ($300)

Roster Sizes: Each AAA team will have a Set Roster of 14 players.  The players who do not make up the Set Roster for the AAA team, will be:

·        on the Practice Roster and will be encouraged to practice, train, and scrimmage with the AAA team;

·        if Baseball Nova Scotia offers an AA league, they will be on the AA team (and we anticipate that the AAA team and AA team will often practice and scrimmage together);

·        and are encouraged to play on a Co-Ed Recreational Team.  In our experience, the girls who play on a Co-Ed Recreational Team as well as being involved with an All-Girls team tend to improve quickly.  (The girls who are on AAA team are also encouraged to play on a Co-Ed Recreational Team.)

Evaluation Sessions: In determining who will be on the Set Roster for the AAA Team, there will be two evaluation sessions that will take place in April.

Practices – Practices will begin in May and take place throughout the summer.  An effort is being made to schedule more practices during the week, BUT there will still be some

practices and games on the weekends.   HMB hopes to have special guest instructors attend the practices to help the girls further hone their baseball skills.

Games - Games are scheduled by Baseball Nova Scotia and will be split between home and away games.  The away games will require some travel, including weekend travel.

Co-ed Recreational Team Option – Because the girls who play on a Co-Ed Recreational Team improve more quickly, we encourage all girls to take advantage of the Co-ed Recreational Team Option.  There is no extra cost to this option!  The All-Girls Team, however MUST BE THEIR FIRST PRIORITY!!  When signing up, indicate to the Registrar that you also wish to be placed on a Co-Ed Recreational Team.

Parents Meetings - We are going to hold parents meeting throughout the season, so we are able to monitor how things are going and respond to any feedback.  We anticipate that the first parents meeting will be held in March.  Stay Tuned.
