As you already know, the Association has decided to reinstate the Opening Ceremonies for this Saturday, June 5 at Larry O'Connell. The cancellation of the original date was the result of lack of resources. We appreciate your patience on this matter.
We know your time is valuable so we have attempted to combine the Opening Ceremonies with Picture Day. As mentioned previously, Picture Day was slated for Saturday June 5 at Flynn Park. We have moved the Picture Day location to Larry O'Connell to coincide with the Opening Ceremonies and the introduction of the new Batting Cage. The specific photo time for each team will be provided to the coaches this week.
Here are some key times with respect to the Opening Ceremonies:
- The Ceremonies will begin at 10 am where each team and its players will be called out and recognized.
- The Opening Ceremonies will take approximately two hours.
- Immediately after the players and the teams have been announced there will be a short ceremony around the batting cage.
- Following the batting cage ceremony, the kids will be able to enjoy some hot dogs and treats.
- Picture Day will occur throughout the entire day starting at 11 am.
There will be stakes in the outfield that will have the team's name. Please have your team line up by 10 am behind the proper stake. These stakes will be located in the beginning part of the outfield with the Novice teams closer to the first base side of the outfield and the Bantam teams closer to Center Field.
If HRM closes fields on Saturday we will try again on Sunday, June 6 at 10 am. Please see the Field Conditions tab on the Association's website for what the City has determined, prior to leaving for Larry O'Connell.
Picture Day would be rescheduled for Sunday as well but would take place at Flinn with a revised schedule that would be sent out to all coaches on Saturday.
